The_Ghan
I was browsing my Tomix Catalog 2011-2012 p135 (92389) and noticed that the map shows the 115-1000 Shinsyu colour ran through Kofu. Can anyone confirm this? My Japanese isn't good enough so a translation of the description at the top of the page and the notes over the map would be greatly appreciated. bikkuri bahn
I don't have the catalog, but current Nagano color (Shinshu color) 115 units range as far as Tachikawa, and are common at Kofu. Link to comment
The_Ghan
Hi Bikkuri, Thanks for the info, but I already knew about the Nagano colour 115s. The one in your video was west-bound through Kofu. It didn't stop and was running on the middle track that doesn't have a platform. This video was so clear that I could read the actual car numbers on the side in full-screen mode. I can now be VERY prototypical when applying car numbers to my Nagano 115. This is the puppy I'm talking about! Is it exactly the same train, but in an older colour scheme, or an entirely different service? Cheers The_Ghan Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
The old color scheme lasted only about 5 years, also pre-digital era, so photo record is spotty. Also, back then Matsumoto also had 115-1000 series assigned, and I can't find info on liveries specific to that depot, though I find a smattering of old jobs taken in the Matsumoto area: http://homepage2.nifty.com/m_miyazawa/rail/115qna.jpg kamisuwa: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/tak_cruise134/27129122.html shiojiri (bottom): http://blog.goo.ne.jp/torinosanpo/e/735447d11f5eb819def4523cc15c3539 I suspect Kofu saw more suka iro and shonan color 115's in that 1989~1994 era. When Nagano changed to the current color scheme, and Matsumoto giving up its 115 roster, the new Nagano colors spread more, I think. I see more pictures of the old scheme on the Shinetsu Line, ranging as far as Takasaki, pre-Nagano Shinkansen. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
In the video, I believe the train was on the down line, being a local, it likely stopped at platform 1. The video was taken from the Minobu Line platforms 4/5, past the Maizuru Road Bridge. Link to comment
stevenh
That brown EF64 is the star of the show :) Just something interesting, the gas tank in the background was under construction in June 2009... I wonder if the other in the background is the same EF64 as in my pics: Link to comment
The_Ghan
In the video, I believe the train was on the down line I think the "down line" is west-bound. Either way, this train is west bound simply because the gas tank is north-east of the station, opposite Kofu Castle (what's left of it!), being a local, it likely stopped at platform 1 You're probably right there ... I just couldn't tell if it was slowing down on the video. The video was taken from the Minobu Line platforms 4/5, past the Maizuru Road Bridge. Yuh! I know the spot well! Popular with railfans, as is the street just north of the castle. Link to comment

Can someone please translate the description and notes for this train in Tomix 2011-2012 p135? Cheers The_Ghan Link to comment
keitaro
first off here is a pic about the green old shinshu livery and it's lines http://userdisk.webry.biglobe.ne.jp/001/227/85/N000/000/012/127237756537416402031_92389-3.jpg this guy wasn't buying it for the shinshu livery http://to-industry.at.webry.info/201004/article_28.html on the topic of the nagano based new shinshu well here it is apparently running on kofu from 1989 - 2005? theres also this link mentions about it http://homepage2.nifty.com/takakyo/nagano/nagano_5.html seems on this link the shinshu colour appeared in 1989? here is a youtube in kofu station as shinshu new colour not as nagano In addition i dug up some blogs in refference to this at kofu http://blog.goo.ne.jp/tmiyashi/e/98d5b63444f7b31438a0114751dfd12c some interior shots http://takaq.fc2web.com/sy/jre/je115naga1000.htm Also this one shows a red one sitting at kofu not sure on dates though but it is as the translation says extinct http://www.uraken.net/rail/alltrain/uratetsu115.html Link to comment
