scott
....actually works! I'm sitting in the cafe car of the Northeast Regional somewhere between Warrenton and Manassas, Virginia, heading for Washington DC. And we're on time! And once I get to Union Station, I'm going to head to a Japanese place for lunch. 3 Link to comment
cteno4
ha i can hear your stomach rumbling from here scott! that sushi place downstairs is quite good, fish seems to always be pretty fresh and reasonably priced i think because they do a good volume in there. i always hope for dorothy coming back from new york around late after noon or dinner time to get her to stop by and bring home sushi! is the wifi free? See you later tonight. any more intel on when your event is ending? hey if they have wifi at nat geo you can also send me an email when you are headed out and ill try and keep checking for it later in the eve if there are no pay phones. cheers jeff Link to comment
Guest ___
I wish Amtrak had sushi. Hey when you come out of Gate G, feel free to take a NARP brochure from the rack at my counter. Link to comment

Would you really *eat* Amtrak sushi? ;-) I'm already home again, but I'll definitely grab a brochure next time I get up there. I noticed recently that somebody at my office has a NARP bumper sticker on their car. Link to comment

Hey when you come out of Gate G, feel free to take a NARP brochure from the rack at my counter. just have to plan it as both penn and union stations have good sushi places to get take away, its dorothy's little routine! i agree with scott, with amtrak's schedule, keeping the sushi cold and fresh would be a big question mark! would be cool to have a little sushi chef in the club car making stuff! i bet they actually could make money on the penn to union run as there are a lot of sushi eaters along there! although the chef might loose a finger trying to slice fish while the train sways around! jeff Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
On the Acela, WiFi was free, although not very fast or reliable. On the other hand, I tried downloading some OS X updates, which obviously is pushing it a bit ;) Never tried it on the Northeast regional, I was too busy thinking I was in my vision of an American 60s diner, as I was sitting in the diner car. I really enjoyed the trip, much more than any train trip I've ever taken in the Netherlands at least :) Link to comment
