Tomix Automatic Crossing Gate

The Tomix crossing gate will support crossing of curves, cants and up to quad across rail. It supports the existing TCS sensors and the new "Quad sensor" for detection on  quad rail setup.

It is supposed to be out this spring, perhaps as soon as the end of April.

i been looking this up but it seems like the sensors are still the same old ones.

 

The track one cannot detect plastic wheels. While this is not so bad it may effect the time it comes down and up.

 

for example some freight cars i have use plastic wheels so the sensor may only detect the loco pulling and open the gates while the freight cars are still going through. (really don't feel like upgrading wheels)

 

would be nice if they updated these sensors as well to work better.

I wonder if that coment on the description is reffering to wide track sensors, slab sensors etc or some new types of sensors that might come available soon.

We shall see what happens, I was just impressed with how much more flexible it was than the Kato version.
