Guest bill937ca
On You Tube there a couple of videos produced for a professional layout builder. You'll see Tomix Y switches, this layout probably uses a Tomix automatic train control system and along with several Green Max kits for structures and landscaping. There is a lighted Tomix condo building in the second video. The builder of the layouts also has a blog on his layout building methods: http://enosima.exblog.jp/ The Enoden articulated cars are by Modemo. These cars generally need a minimum radius of about 243 or 280mm and do not take kindly to changes in grade, but are great little cars. This layout generally seems to be flat. I believe this is an earlier version of the video. It's not on You Tube, but Google and the train runs a bit too fast. http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-6210040618536138479&q=syonanmodel&total=5&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=3 http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-3472155832753728080&q=syonanmodel&total=5&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=1 Link to comment

Guest bill937ca
DDF is another custom layout builder. These are two different layouts with the same prototype theme. DDF Layout The DDF layout has a small house just past the seaside station. The in front of the house climbs a steep grade. The back station against the wall is a single platform in a relatively open setting. http://jtrains-models.fotopic.net/p6448263.html http://jtrains-models.fotopic.net/p6448270.html Syonanmodel Layout This layout has a Tomix condo building just past the seaside station. The road cutting across the layout is relatively flat (second photo). On this layout the back station against the wall has two tracks entered with Y switches. This is more enclosed by the platforms on each side of the tracks. http://pds.exblog.jp/pds/1/200711/25/73/a0049073_1410328.jpg http://pds.exblog.jp/pds/1/200711/25/73/a0049073_14115866.jpg Layout Overall Photo: DDF http://jtrains-models.fotopic.net/p6448276.html Syonanmodel http://pds.exblog.jp/pds/1/200711/25/73/a0049073_20594050.jpg Link to comment
Guest ___
These videos rock. This is the kind of layout I'd build if I lived in Japan and had better access to items. Link to comment
