Curved bridges & unitrack?

I'm new guy here but I couldn't find anything on curved bridges with Kato unitrack  so?

 

How do I do it? how has it been done before?... I need bridges that are both unit rack compatible and curved....

As none are produced by Kato.. How do I scratch make one? I can't be alone with this need. Any suggestions?

Kato makes viaducts that have curve pieces.. 

 

Some German companies make/made curved bridges but mostly in HO but I don't think they will fit the radii of the Kato track. Perhaps others here have better news..

 

A lot of curved bridges that I have seen at train shows or magazines look custom built and use flex track..

 

There are countless types of bridges so perhaps you can post a bit a more detail...

I'm not aware of any Unitrack bridges (other than Viaduct sections, which you could use as a girder-type bridge) that curve.  However, you can use the Unitrack-to-finetrack adapter (20-045, sold in the U.S. as a snap-track adapter) to connect to conventional rail-jointer track.  With that you could use any bridge you can find that is compatible with standard sectional or flex track, although you may still need to deal with rail height ("code") compatibility as Kato uses code 80 track, and I'm not sure how well the adapters work with other sizes of rail.

 

Curved bridges themselves aren't common though.  I can't think of any offhand.

Tomix offers a double track curved girder bridge for Tomix C317 and C280 track curves. With this bridge you would have to use Tomix track as Kato curves won`t fit. You also would need Tomix 3048 Concrete Piers to support the bridge.

just make one yourself.

 

Suggestion would be to cut the wood to the shape and curve you need,

 

Get a paper kit bridge and or plastic one cust the sides of and bend to re-shape them for your bridge.

 

I guess is depends on the brige you make tomix and kato sell many side fences etc that could be used for the walls on the bridge.

Tomix offers Wide PC rail C280, C317, C354 and C391 with super elevated curves.  You would need sidewalls (available in at least two versions), bridge beams for the chosen radius and single or double width piers to support the structure.
