worldrailboy
what were these locomotives used for basically? I'm assuming they were lightweight freight locomotive for anywhere except mainlines, that photo of it rambling by with only a single WA car is something I had to ask because of the photos submitted between 2010/6/18 and 2010/6/17 and thought that such a small passenger+freight station could be something for me to model after (but thats for Platform 5 anyway) Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
They were originally built for the private Fuji Minobu Line, and passed into government hands when that line was nationalized. At the time they were built they were considered mid-size locomotives. Interestingly, one of the class was transferred to the Senzan Line in Tohoku. Given their areas of use, they basically are locomotives for use on curvy, mountainous secondary lines. Link to comment

The_Ghan
Yuh, Top blog. I've had to save it for a careful read later as the Kofu basin area is one of my niches. Thanks for the post. Cheers The_Ghan Link to comment
worldrailboy
heh glad it went both ways, bikkuri helped me and I helped the_ghan :-) disturbman I'm trying to work out a layout that pretty much has a lot of country runs mostly through the mountain range on one side then flatter lines on other side running through fields and stopping in compressed towns, its in Platform 5 yeah Link to comment
