cteno4
ok many times when cutting tomytec parts off sprews they were painted on you are left with those annoying little white patches. its a pain to try and mix some paint to match and craft acrylics usually are a bit too heavy to match up the texture well and doing nicer mixes with tamaya or testors too expensive and a pain for the tiny patches. so many times i use markers (sharpie, art markers, etc) to cover these up. one problem is many are gray and most marker sets really dont do gray! turns out many tomytec parts are gray where the sprew connection is... found the solution, gray india ink permanent markers by fabercastell. also have paint tips so works well to patch up those little holes! also looks as though they will be useful to tone down the white patch some then put a colored marker over the top so the marker color does not come out so bright as it does on the pure white styrene. got a set of 6 gray markers for $9 ($18 with a 50% off ac moore coupon), so only $1.50 ea. not sure i would do the full $18 for this limited use though. anyone else have any tricks for the sprew spots? jeff Link to comment
