well if you decide you want some jgsdf trucks in 1/144, tomytec is releasing some in marh. they are a bit pricy. trucks look very similar to the takara set from the sinking japan series.

When they say "pre-painted kit" do they just mean that the plastic is coloured?

 

N scale seems a bit small to do a kit, so I hope that kit means something different.

in the pictures on hobbysearch they seem to be fully painted and in about 20 pieces for simple assembly of the fully painted model then.

Nice post Jeff - this is one thing I was wondering....how would you display either a plane or helicopter in flight over a layout but not showing any visible wires?

could try the rod from behind, would work fine for a stationary, hovering chopper.

 

btw they also have a rod system with a battery pack counter balance and a pivot point stand that lets you fly the chopper in a circle. i think this is what that japanese attic layout that was in a thread here used for its chopper that flew around a building. the chopper blades provide the propulsion to spin the chopper around. could use this for stationary display for a hover as well:

Realistically, this is the only chance you have of mounting a futile attack against Godzilla.

well unfortunately the only attack helicopters are the hueys coming, but they rely on having the motor external, mounted on the belly. could add some rocket pods to them. i was thinking of a chinook dropping off a cannon or something and just sitting with the rotors going while unloading, but at $50 just seemed like too much. i may break down and buy one of the choppers and see if i can motorize them myself, ive got a bunch of small dc motors here. thinking of first trying it on one of my other little 1/144 choppers first, those i got for like $3-4 so sacrificing one to play with would not be horrible. guess you could run the shaft down under the table if the chopper is landed and have any sort of motor down below.

 

btw ive been looking at some of the missile addon sets you can get for 1/144 and 1/72 airplanes to make some wild looking ground missile launchers! the godzilla battle keeps raging in the back of my imagination!
