KenS
The flip observation is: would anyone notice? Yahoo isn't what it used to be. It sounds like it would just be a change of ownership for the entity formerly known as Yahoo Japan, led by its co-owner. It's hard to know from the outside, but perhaps they don't think Yahoo has been putting enough into the company, or don't understand the Japanese Internet market's differences from that of the U.S. Link to comment
spacecadet
This is just saying Yahoo Inc., as distinct from the brand "Yahoo", may exit Japan. That's nothing anyone would even see. Yahoo Japan has been operated as a distinct entity for more than a decade, and Yahoo Inc. only owns a small percentage of it as it is. It doesn't sound like anything would change from the consumer perspective. Link to comment
bill937ca
Its probably only of interest if it affects the minority using Yahoo auctions for rare items. Link to comment
