stevenh
For those playing along at home: This train runs from Kyushutetsudoukinenkan around the peninsula (under the bridge) to Kanmonkaikyomekari in Kyushu. There's even electric locomotive EF301 and a passenger carriage on plinth out the front of the final station. Link to comment
cteno4
what cute little switchers. love the low profile and off sided cab. anyone know the model of the switcher. would be micro ace model. looks like the kato pocket tram mechanism would work on it seems to be about the right wheel base, but hard to get a good look in these videos of the switcher truck. jeff Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
anyone know the model of the switcher. DB10 type diesel switcher. 10t, powered by a 112ps diesel engine, regeared and with larger wheels, to permit 25km/h running rather than the typical 10km/h. You can find a pic of the cab interior here. Note that a pocketwatch stand has been fabricated for the driver. http://tabi.chunichi.co.jp/blog/kyushu/2009/08/post-20.html Link to comment
cteno4
other videos with the trip and someone riding in the cab! the old station also looks pretty cool. one very skinny high rise as well. also lots of really interesting things on the water, from tall ships to something really strange in this video! looks like a hamburger hydrofoil! only bummer is i have not found any great pictures of the undercarriage of the db10, its all black and in most folks shots in bright sunlight its super high contrast. interesting that worldcraft did an early version of the db10 in brass. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10085494 thinking that a carved back kato 107 pocket tram mech might work for this, have to measure wheel bases. the body wont be too bad, especially with the rounded windows, easy to cut with drill holes in the corners. its pretty smooth shapes in the modern one. damn you bill, ya got the wheels turning! jeff 1 Link to comment

westfalen
westfalen, thanks much! looks like the same setup! were these 2 axle cars? jeff Basically just two axle open wagons with roofs added, if I remember correctly there was a gangway connection between the two cars. They had lights and a PA system but it was not as fancy as the Mojiko train. Link to comment
