lepusinsularis
Have a HO scale Santa fe 3500 which came in a set. First train I purchased a couple years ago. Seemed to run pretty good, until recently. Took it apart and the drive wheel where all the gears are, found a metal bar which held one of the cogs in place. Apparently there was too much stress on the holder for that cog and it broke. Anyway, can you just replace the drive wheels (if that is what they are called). Wasnt hard to take apart, Anyone know what exactly the part is I'm looking for? The only affects the forward direction not the reverse. Thanks for all your help. Think might have to get into the n gauge size of trains, as no place to keep this thing setup. Link to comment
Bernard
Welcome to the forum....One thing we need to know is who is the manufacturer of the Sante Fe 3500? Link to comment
bill937ca
Hobby Search has an HO Scale Parts section (scroll down): http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/rail/ Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
If the locomotive in question is the Life Like GP38-2 (trainset version, not proto2000), either contact the manufacturer for parts (probably more trouble than it's worth), or just buy a replacement. Amazon has one on sale for $36.36: http://www.amazon.com/Life-Like-Trains-Scale-Powered-Locomotive/dp/B001CLN53U Link to comment
