keitaro
they are ok too! http://www.jnsforum.com/index.php/topic,4039.msg57716.html#msg57716 thats the base ball set on my field. I have some others not put to good use yet but will soon. I'm going to trim the bases they are on down though as it does look a bit silly to me. Link to comment
cteno4
from the looks of hobby search's latest newsletter, pro hobby is re-releasing a lot of the 1/144 figures and etched metal kits again. many were going OOS all over the place in the last 6 months or so. i think they are also changing the packaging as well. jeff Link to comment

The base is the only thing that bothers me about the Pro Hobby figures too. The Japanese don't seem to worry though, I've seen photos of otherwise very well done layouts or dioramas where the modeller has left the bases on. Link to comment
cteno4
yeah the bases are a pain! some japanese layouts keep the bases on figures and add them to those that dont have them so they can set up different layouts and scenes w/o doing a really fixed layout/scene. ive had pretty good luck carving them off with a knife in multiple passes and also chopping off most of the base except around the feet and then grinding the last bit off with the rotary tool and a grinding bit. jeff Link to comment
