clem24
Anyone check out this E5 vid on Kato's site? http://www.katomodels.com/n/e5kei/ Paying close attention to the viaduct, is it just me or does that seem like very, giant radius viaduct? Where can I get this?? I know Kato announced big radius double track curves but those aren't viaduct pieces... 1 Link to comment
ToniBabelony
WOW! That looks spectacular. Beautiful smooth curves. If it were a commuter train negotiating through there, it would remind me a bit of the Keisei Honsen from Nippori to Aoto. Link to comment
Darklighter
Very nice. I guess those curves have a radius of around 1.2 m. The ballast indicates that it's "self-made" using flex track. Link to comment

westfalen
Might be kitbashed using straight viaduct sections and flex track? However they've done it that's what a shinkansen track should look like. Link to comment
KenS
The walls in some places (straights?) looked like normal viaduct, but on the long curves they looked like some kind of continuous strip of material. Likely entirely scratchbuilt in those sections. And yeah, that's what you want for a Shinakansen viaduct. 1 Link to comment
traindork
Wow! Very nice! I really wish Kato would do larger radii viaduct pieces. Don't know what size those were in the video, but boy it looks great. Link to comment
HiSpdTrainFan
Very nice layout. The E5 looks like an alligator on rail. 1 Link to comment
Darklighter
I finally found more information on this layout. It was built by YouTube user "silpheena": And the best part is, he wrote an detailed article on his home-made viaduct track: http://www.diotown.com/creative/2011/03/curve-track-base.html# (curve radius: 2 m !!!) 1 Link to comment
john_ibw
Nice. I think I will now dream of a n even larger layout now :) Link to comment

Mudkip Orange
And yet 2m=320m=1050' which is what us highway folks would post as a 45mph curve... Link to comment
quinntopia
Yeah, I think this is my new obsession now...big wide curves! Of course, that's completly inrealistic, but oh well! Anyway, he did a brilliant job! Thanks for sharing the link to his blog Darklighter! Link to comment
