Lawrence
Guys, I recently picked up a set of Kato coaches (510-1 thru 514-1), they are brown and one has a blue stripe, one a white stripe and observation platform and one part baggage car and perhaps a restaurant car? I am having difficulty identifying them so any help would be great and also what type of loco would pull such a rake of coaches. Having got all 5 for £15 including postage I went a bit bargain blind but I don't think they have ever been used, there also appears to be a little packet in each case with copper strips in them, might these be pickups for future lighting? Any help would be much appreciated Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
Those are coaches used on express and limited express services immediately after WW2 such as Tsubame, mainly on the Tokaido Line before the introduction of ltd. express emu's. A likely locomotive would be the EF58, or the C62. 1 Link to comment
Lawrence
Thank you BB, I take it I really should use the Brown coloured EF58 (the early one) Does anyone know what the little copper contacts are for? I will try and get a picture this weekend Link to comment
westfalen
The copper strips you describe do sound like the contact strips for the Kato lighting kits. 2 Link to comment
