new interesting photo book focusing on the smaller railroads in the disaster areas pre disaster. book proceeds going to help the Santetsu rr rebuilding.

"Railroad photographers have linked up to publish a photo collection of scenic Tohoku railways taken before the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami devastated the landscape and washed away many of the stations they shot from.

 

The photo collection, titled "Wasure-enu Tohoku, Furusato no Tetsudo Fukei" (Unforgettable Tohoku, railway photos of hometown), contains images of railroads in northern Japan, mainly in the Sanriku district, southern coastal areas of Iwate Prefecture."
