Nick_Burman
The more I scour the web, the more I learn and discover. Now this...didn't know that a railroad with 5% ruling grades and which (AFAIK) never carried interchange carload freight in its lifetime had an electric locomotive... Cheers NB 1 Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
One thing with railways in Japan that I have learned is never to say "never". Apparently Kobe Dentetsu did have freight interchange with the JNR Kakogawa Line at Ao Station. But this ended in 1963. This picture shows evidence of a connection between the two railways: http://senrohaisenzu.cocolog-nifty.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/09/22/19800407a07.jpg Undated (but pre-1980) picture of the same area, this time with the freight siding, unclear of how the siding was connected to the Kobe Dentetsu line: http://www.nihonkai.com/onokoho/stao2.jpg website: http://senrohaisenzu.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2008/09/198047-f087.html *unfortunately the track diagram is from 1980, after the interchange was removed.
