Interesting to notice that while some cars had some very short (less than 20 years) lives, others were positively geriatric - some classes of boxcars built in the 1920's only came off when JRF curtailed wagonload freight in 1984! westfalen Posted September 2, 2011 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Interesting site. A lot of freight cars could be used to model different eras. The situation was the same here, up until wagon load freight was given up in the late eighties we were still running wooden cars from the 1880's alongside the most modern rollingstock.
