Nick_Burman
A DD54 helps a C57 on a freight train. Every time I see these locos, be it the prototype or a model, I seldom fail to think about Japanese autos of the same period... Cheers NB 2 Link to comment
miyakoji
Very nice, I just wish they'd say a little more about where on the lines each scene is. Link to comment
westfalen
Damn you for finding that, now I've got to get a DD54. Link to comment

They are something different though. The one in the video does look a bit the worse for wear. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
I just wish they'd say a little more about where on the lines each scene is. According to the comments, the first part is on the Sanin Main Line, with the segment from 0:17 to 0:23 appearing to be in the vicinity of Shakunami Signals between Youka and Ebara. From 0:51 the doubleheader is on the Bantan Line, specifically the grade between Teramae and Arai.* You can see the DD54 assisting the C57 is different from the one on the Sanin Line, as it has aluminum sashes on the cab windows rather than rubber gaskets. DD54 site: http://homepage2.nifty.com/cxturbo/DD54.html *on the Bantan Line C57 Pacifics were used on freight, rather than D51 (axle load limits?) 1 Link to comment
