Guest ___
Anyone have a link to an image library that has the history of the equipment used o nth Yamanote Line? Link to comment
bill937ca
I'll take it as a no I've never seen one. Most stuff on the internet is strictly digital, hence it only goes back about 10 years. Link to comment
keitaro
this is the only thing i know of http://www2.odn.ne.jp/~cdn93170/yamate.html i hope you enjoy it includes sketches and some pics etc Link to comment
keitaro
so i had a look about on the internet and can't find anything specific to equipment used on the line. There are a few blogs out there talking about the radio equipment and doors but nothing track or actual history covering. More so on recent designs. Anyway i hope my trivia link was an interesting read. Link to comment
Guest ___
I would think old slides from more than 10 years back would be scanned in. Even I have slides dating back 20+ years that I have scanned. Considering the historic significance to the lie itself, and it's dominate visibility in the public, one would suspect someone would have psoted in detail an image bank of the line's history. bill937ca
One reason you don't see many old images online is that they are either controlled by commercial publishers or museums both of which usually aren't big on posting online. Museums often are backlogged in cataloging their collections. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
You can find plenty of images on-line of older Yamanote line stock, but it's not in any unified library format, as they are typically the odd snapshots taken by the blog/website creator. This is an interesting 8mm film of action at Tokyo Station circa 1967, then the Yamanote Line stock was light green (uguisu iro) 103 units, along with earlier 101 units in canary yellow.
