David
Modeltrainstuff has the V15 set now (as do a bunch of other Kato dealers) so scratch off another box set that can be ordered locally. The one I'm posting about however is the 10-005 set they've also brought into stock. This is the D51 starter set. In the past Japanese starters have been available in the US but it's always the 500 or N700 series (bullet trains). Of course the one big advantage of this particular set being available in the US was lost this year - previously the D51 starter was the only way to get those particular passenger cars (they are not available seperately). Mudkip Orange
Modeltrainstuff The fact that this wasn't edited out by the forum software is how I know I'm not on Trainboard. Link to comment
Lawrence
With tax and handling charges it works out about £20 cheaper than the best UK price for the 10-005, but when you add shipping on to the UK there isn't much in it, certainly seems a bargain for our US members though Link to comment
westfalen
HS has the D51 starter set for about $60US less than M.B. Klein, even with EMS shipping to the US it's still cheaper. Good exposure for Japanese trains and for those who don't like ordering overseas though. Link to comment
