rpierce000
If anyone wants one quickly the SAL fairy just brought BT Trains 4 of these, two of each color. I don't have them up on the site yet, but if you email me I will get one out to you ASAP. They are $60.28 each plus shipping from Seattle. USPS Priority mail runs about $15.90. They are VERY large and heavy, you will be amazed at the quality and structure of these things. All of the stalls lines are prepainted as are the kanji directions for in and out. There is also a large sheet of decals and like any prepainted kit a few minutes of detail painting will go from good job to incredible result. Bob bob@bttrains.com www.bttrains.com Link to comment

The left side is unglued for acess to the elevator shaft for future lighting and moving autos in and out. It snaps in place well enough it wont fall off. Kato autos make good sacrifice for glueing. I skipped the majority of interior decals, as soon as you see what youre missing you'll understand why. That is absolutely spectacular!! This is what I'm envisioning for my set up. I've only purchased from Plaza Japan so far. Any other sites that you would recommend for structures? Link to comment

Lot's and lots of parts and sprue's to assemble and manage, but the materials are pretty excellent. I kit-bashed two boxes (4 buildings) to create a taller structure and the materials were nice to work with and the casting was good. http://quinntopia.blogspot.com/2010/03/aoshima-apartments-20-stories-of-fine.html MUCH better quality than the Tramway "Starhouse" and probably a little bit better than some of the Greenmax kits. Of course, not sure what the parking garage will look like, but based on their apartment building model your pretty safe. Incredible work!! Link to comment

He gave up on trains a couple of years ago, to focus on his company. But his website is still up and it's a real trove of gems. https://quinntopia.blogspot.com/ I know you're building a city diorama and not a train layout, but have you considered having a train line cross your setup, even if it's just a piece of static scenery? Nothing says Tokyo like a train. Edited May 17, 2021 by gavino200 1 Link to comment
cteno4
@chickendrop you can also print your own and add as many floors as you like or make double deep with the scalescenes pdf templates. Basically cardstock modeling, but do a nice job. https://scalescenes.com/product/t035-multi-storey-car-park/ Member macdon did these nicely outland also makes a 3D printed car park and also sell additional floors. While not as finely moulded and detailed as the aoshima model (now oop and pretty much oos), but hey it’s a car park, they are not all that detailed! Fill it with the cheap Chinese architectural cars on the lower floors and a few nice tomytec on the roof and you may not notice any loss of little details. https://outlandmodels.com/products/4-story-car-parking-building-1-160-n-scale?pr_prod_strat=copurchase&pr_rec_pid=4833381548109&pr_ref_pid=4833382137933&pr_seq=uniform Sankei makes a small 2 story car park that’s not really suited to try to gang up higher, but for that odd fill in place. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10153232 jeff 1 2 Link to comment

Nothing says Tokyo like a train. You're right! It definitely would not look like a Tokyo city scene without at least one train line. I'm going to have to do some mini city planning. Thanks for the info! 1 Link to comment

Those paper structures look amazing, and they would make good fillers in the background! Thanks for sharing! Link to comment
cteno4
hobbysearch is the best site to look around on, they have most all main Japanese stuff listed there even if long oop and oos. It’s like a nice big catalog! You cna then shop around if they don’t have it in stock. Yes some good high rises there also. Also good as just planning fillers. Cheap to print out ans put together roughly just for playing with. If you do care in assembly, coloring edges and supporting internally with some foam core or heavier cardboard they can be quite nice structures. so have you started to think about lighting for the typical night scene? (He says with an evil laugh!) jeff 1 1 Link to comment

One of my buddies gave me a whole set of plug and play LED's. Looking forward to reaching that point. Link to comment
