bikkuri bahn
Yinghao Coal Railway? http://www.chinasteam.co.uk/trains/china232.htm on the coal bunker is lettered "safety first" (anzen daiichi if read in Japanese) Apparently this railway was "discovered" by two Japanese railway enthusiasts in 2004, and has since seen many steam fans visit. Frankly, more interesting than the shiny new high speed rail lines, but this is the part of China that the CCP doesn't really want outsiders to see. All the more reason to visit Link to comment
westfalen
I wonder if the line is still operating? Looking on Google Earth I notice that of the four standard gauge coal railways I visited in 2007 one is mostly abandoned and two appear have stopped running steam. The big question though, for those who watch the first video through to the end, is why did the chicken cross the tracks? Link to comment

spacecadet
Do they just stick the tracks directly in the dirt or what?? Link to comment
