bill937ca
The descriptions are very vague on these videos. I should remember the name of this railroad, but I don't. Anyways it's something out of ordinary. Link to comment
ToniBabelony
Jingfu? IIRC it's Keifuku (京 = Kei/Miyako) (福 = Fuku). But yeah, nice video's. Now the company is called Echizen Tetsudou (since 2002) however and operates the Katsuyama Eiheiji-line. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echizen_Railway Link to comment

Looks like they had a commemorative day this weekend. Link to comment
David
The first video seems to have 2 engines. The one in the middle is a steep cab of some sort, but the one on the end (which I think is the same as the second video) - what prototype is this? Is there a class name for these little electric engines that also have space for passengers/cargo? Link to comment
bill937ca
The steeple cab could be modeled with the Kato Pocket Line steeple cabs. Aoshima makes a model of a small freight motor similar to #6. http://www.ne.jp/asahi/aya/wing/roko/keifuku6.html http://www.hcn.zaq.ne.jp/cadzy500/HP1/chinsya-htm/echizen_teki6/echizen_teki6.htm http://nemuihito.at.webry.info/201105/article_23.html http://cgi.ebay.com/Mini-Size-Train-Black-N-scale-Aoshima-87213-/120652286508?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1c176fca2c This is not the Keifuku line in Kyoto, but a division near Toyama that shutdown after two serious accidents. quashlo
The translator algorithm probably defaulted to Chinese... Those are the Mandarin pronunciations of the characters. "Jing" is the same as in Beijing, "fu" is the same as in Fujian Province. Link to comment

Thanks for the short review. In any case the prototype is from the Shizuoka Railway and different from the Keifuku/Echizen unit. Cheers NB Link to comment
David
I just like those kind of units period. If Kato (or arguably even Microace) made one that was a good runner I'd definitely create a mini layout around it. Link to comment
