linkey
Let's hope that the Sanriku Line can be rebuilt and the government can help out withthe costs but also knowing that the government is going to be hit with the rebuilding cost to the North East coast of Japan and the other areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. 1 Link to comment
cteno4
we have some pictures of the damaged Sanriku lines up on the jrm site: http://japanrailmodelers.org/pages/news/041511damage.html http://japanrailmodelers.org/pages/news/061511santetsu.html (good before and after shots) one of JRM's sister club in iwate, IRC, is an employee or Sanriku. they too the Omocha Express charity that JRM set up with IRC (http://www.omochaexpress.org) project to the Sanriku administration. Even with the rr being almost totally wiped out, they wanted to give back to their riders however they can and have pledged to help with the effort and will be helping in locating child care centers, relief center, etc that are in need of the toys, books, and art materials that Omocha Express will be providing to kids effected by the disasters. If you haven't yet, please check out the Omocha Express website (http://www.omochaexpress.org) and give if you are so inclined. small donations are appreciated as well as large ones as part of the effort is to show broad support to those hard hit by the disasters, especially the kids. cheers jeff Link to comment
