bikkuri bahn
This time it's a sleeping driver, on the busy Chitose Line: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn23wfqwd4E&feature=player_embedded The train was a morning rapid service bound for Shin-Chitose Airport. A passenger became alarmed when he noticed the driver nodding off, and decided to film the driver using his cellphone camera. This train service is a profitable one for JR Hokkaido (ドル箱路線= dorubako rosen, or "moneybox line"), and also is one that runs at 130km/h, with many grade crossings. Link to comment
westfalen
If JR Hokkaido's 'fatigue management' is anything like QR's I sympathize with the poor guy. If you're on a week where you start by signing on at 1800 Monday and the come back each day after the minimum 12 hours off so that by the end of the week you are signing on as early as 0200 its hard to look alert.
