Bloody Windows Internet Explorer

Had my computer go down yesterday. :lipssealed::sad:???

Have removed Internet explorer and installed Google Chrome instead.

Seems to run quicker.

Had to reinstall half my software and rest all the passwords for lots of stuff. The only one I could not do was Photobucket as I realised that was linked to an obsolete e-mail address. New account set up for all  pictures from now on.

Internet Explorer sucks, that's not new!  :grin

Everyone would be happier without and the Internet would be a much more beautiful place if everyone used Safari, Chrome or Firefox.

Anyway, I hope you didn't loose data. If it's just software and stuff it's ok, but I can't imagine losing my travel pictures...  :lipssealed:

Agree! IE sucks. And recently after being on MS OSs for over 20 odd years, I also moved to a Mac and away from Windows. No regrets, even if I am still learning to use a Mac :)

Thought about changing but need Windows for 90% of my work stuff.

Have wondered about an Android tablet but have not really had any reports on how good they are.

My mobile has Android 2.2 and am very happy with that.

Before anyone suggests it am NOT  going back to the Linux option.

Don't want to enter again the useless Mac Vs. PC war but just a question: you probably don't need Windows but programs used by Windows. What kind of softwares you use are not available on Mac OS?

Not even suggesting virtualisation softwares, I just wonder what kind of work cannot be done on a Mac?!

Custom written software by some of our suppliers for testing/programming search and rescue beacons, some of the soft ware is DOS based but everything will run on XP.

As said is used for work - Advent Atom N270 laptop with built in cell phone modem.

Use a sim card in the back of the PC under the battery to connect to mobile broadband - used it here in the UK, France, and even Iceland with fantastic results. If I can get a mobile signal I can get online. :grin

Don't want to upset the operating system and have to think about drivers.

Like to just switch it on and go.(getting old I think)
