Users of shinkansen, express trains down 11% in Golden Week: JR group

When I did take photos at Shinjuku during the GW holidays, I noticed that compared to previous holidays, there weren't as many trains running either, and many weren't very crowded. Noticed one 183 charter running north on Wednesday but no 185 trains parked on platform 7. Previously, you'd get one 183 charter running north and one or sometimes two going west and a 185 parking at platform 7 and occasionally a special charter like the Utage or the E655. this GW was rather tame.

Next year's Golden Week dates are more favorable for travel than this year's very split up dates.
