westfalen
A nice layout sized train. By the caption of the video I gather it ran up until 2009? Link to comment
Nick_Burman
Thanks Bill, that's nice. Question... do the 12 series coaches (although there seems to be a 14 series in the middle) always run in multiples of three? Do they always run with a "blunt" end car in the consist? Cheers NB Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
By the caption of the video I gather it ran up until 2009? Yes, correct. Question... do the 12 series coaches (although there seems to be a 14 series in the middle) always run in multiples of three? Do they always run with a "blunt" end car in the consist? This arrangement arose from the regular use of these coaches on the Moonlight Kochi service from Kyoto to Kochi. The three car consist was coupled with a similar 3 car consist ("Moonlight Echigo") which departed Kyoto, and after crossing the Seto Ohashi into Shikoku, separated to continue on to their final destinations. I think the middle coach was reserved seating (reclining), a grade up from the box seats of the other coaches. *the train depicted is a ferry run/deadhead of the charted "Afternoon Oobake-go" train, which utilized the Moonlight Kochi stock. scott
Very nice -- lots of good scenery ideas there, too. Too bad it's a stinky diesel. Link to comment
westfalen
I'd give anything to go back to the early 90's when DE10's and DD51's were pulling passenger trains all over the place so I could pay more attention to them and less to the shiny new EMU's and DMU's that were taking their place. Link to comment
