gmat
This Wednesday, I'll be going here to listen to a singer after hours. During the day, it's place that rail fans can run their trains for about 1000 yen per customer per hour. Has anyone ever visited here? gmat
I have to apologize, I realize that this might not be the correct place for this, so moderators, please feel free to move it. Here are some photos of the track layout at Red Peppers. The Master/coffee shop owner was very nice. As I was admiring it after I had asked permission to take a few photos, he said that the trains could run and turned them on. I didn't try to run them. I mentioned that I took photos of trains and he asked where I took photos and I guess that I must have started to disappoint him as I said mostly Shinjuku and when he asked if i had shot the newest Romance Car, I had to ask if it was the white one. He lost interest after that. I'm definitely not that kind of tetsudo fan, or not in the same league. Sorry. I got there late so I couldn't ask if I could take any photos during the programs so I took these later. I came to see this singer below. Her name is Yadako and she is very good and her English is impeccable. I took the following two photos after the performance was over. I asked her to sit like she was playing and I guess that it may have seemed strange to her. Someone got in the way after the first shot and she got up while I was waiting for the crowd to settle down like it was during the performance. The man in the kimono was a rakugo story teller and he was performing when I came in. I couldn't understand much but he sounded interesting. Best wishes, Grant 1 Link to comment

An awkward moment, but don't let it put you off too much. Lots of hobbies have people who aren't very good with talking to casually-interested people, which is too bad, since it can make people feel like they're being excluded from some sort of club. But from my experiences in birding and cycling, you can also meet friendly, non-judgmental people who are both knowledgeable and able to converse. Link to comment
