bill937ca
You don't have to put those crossing gates up!! There is a prototype for it. People in the background are going from a bus terminal to the train station. Most of the trains are Shonan-Shinjuku. 3 Link to comment
westfalen
Quite a few freight trains as well, looks like a good spot to do a bit of train spotting. Link to comment

Guest ___
Lots of crossing on the Hankyu through Shinosaka to Awarji like this. I got stuck at a crossing last year for forty-five minutes. In the states, people would just get tired of waiting and riosk going under to beat the trains after about five minutes. By the ten minute mark most certainly. We had a problem on the MARC here in DC when a CSX would foul the main, blocking or rather trapping alighting MARC passengers on the wrong side of of the tracks from their cars that they would climb over or under the couplers of the stopped freight. MARC would put out warnings onm this, to no avail. Finally someone was injured climbing over a the couplers on a stalled west bound unit coal drag at Barnesville before CSX police would have to be present for a fouled freight on the main. Of course in the states such a crossing would just be closed outright. Link to comment
Mudkip Orange
Yeah if you scope it on Google maps, this crossing has pedestrian overcrossings about 600' north and 800' south, respectively, and auto overpasses a half mile on each side. The guys that are showing up and waiting are most likely not locals. Link to comment

Looks pretty closed to traffic to me especially with that wrong way sign right in the middle of the crossing hahaha. Pretty insane crossing. Looks fun! Do the lights even stop blinking..? stevenh
I see some tan-beige/red 485s in there? What are they doing near Tokyo on the (presumably) Tokaido Main Line? Link to comment

That was a 183/189 series trainset, probably the H81 set, based at the Tamachi Depot. They are often used on rinji ressha on the Tokaido Line. Also, during holiday periods, extra trains on the Moonlight Nagara service use 183/189 series. Somewhere between Shinagawa and Kawasaki: Link to comment
clem24
Ahhh god bless Japan. It's so wonderful when you can film and photograph railways without everyone thinking you're a terrorist. Sorry LOL Just a random thought. Link to comment
