bikkuri bahn
Just picked up the latest issue of RM Models (#189), and it's a good one- it has a special on container trains, with an article on train movements at Tsuchiura Freight Container Station, a description of current scale model container flats, and a map of locomotives used on container trains nationwide (i.e. their range of operation). Also, there is a bonus booklet on model train shops nationwide, with description of the range of stock they carry, such as scales stocked, etc. http://www.rm-models.jp/rmm/new/index.html http://www.1999.co.jp/10137765 2 Link to comment
westfalen
Mine arrived from HS last week. The container article is good even if you can't read the text and the booklet with the hobby shops is something I wish I had on my last trip. Link to comment
CaptOblivious
Either of you willing to add some of that hobby shop location goodness to one of the threads on the topic here? Also, would anyone be willing to share the pages about container trains and their locos? Link to comment
westfalen
The hobby shop booklet is all in Japanese but each shop has a small map showing how to get to it and, just as useful as anyone who has gone hobby shop hunting in Japan will tell you, many have a photo of the outside of the store.
