Fat Al
Just bought a new Nikkor 85mm Macro lens. Perfect opportunity to try it out! But I must say, it was a lot harder to take proper pics than I expected, the depth of view was extremely narrow. Link to comment
Tenorikuma
When I take pseudo-macro photos with my zoom lens, I often have to focus manually to make sure the spot I want is in focus. Don't forget to adjust the aperture if you want less bokeh. Link to comment
Fat Al
This lens is great for that. You can AF with the motor, and use the manual focus ring (not part of the motor driven system) to fine tune the subject. Link to comment
Nozomi
got mine a few days ago. it's absurdly beautiful indeed. Link to comment
Dani
WOW!! We can take your fingerprints from such clear photos.... Link to comment
to2leo
Thank you for being the first to post the pictures. Even though, I am put off by the design, I got to admit it is a pretty detailed looking set. I see Kato use a 'back to basic' coupling and diaphragm. Too bad the N700 coupling method did not work out. Link to comment

I only played with them for a little bit before I put them back in the box, but it seems that the trains are not only attached by the couplings, but also by weak magnets placed in the passageway between the trains. Very sturdy. Link to comment
alpineaustralia
Have (or are you going to) DCC it yet? Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
I'm definitely going to install a set of decoders in mine. The E5 seems to be DCC friendly, but I'm going to install my trusty Lenz Silver+ mini in it anyway :) Link to comment
clem24
Yeah the color temp is way too yellowish (looks like you're just using ambient lighting). I think some off cam lights plus a tripod and max DOF would do you lots of good. Personally, when I shoot my trains, I use my cam with the smallest possible sensor (at the time, a Panny LX3, which has been replaced with a GF1). I don't use my D200 though that might change if I can somehow play with a TS lens... Still have yet to do some macro work with the GF1 though it looks promising with the kit lens! Link to comment
