Martijn Meerts
Bernard, apart from a guy jumping in front of the train on the way to the airport, which caused me to miss my flight, then had it rebooked to a new flight the next day, to find out they booked that one on the wrong name and date, and eventually barely managed to get me a seat, everything was fine =) Pictures and a more detailed description will come once I've rested a little. Are there any clauses for rebooking a flight in that sorta event? Depends a bit on the type of ticket you bought.. I tend to buy the cheapest option, which usually means you have to buy a new ticket if you miss a flight. But I had proof that I would've been on time had there been no cancellations and delays, so I didn't have to pay a new ticket, or even a rebooking fee. The worst was, hotels around the airport aren't affordable, so I had to go back to my parents' place, which is about 2 hours by train away from the airport. Then the next day, get up at 5 in the morning to take the car to the airport to make the new flight. Needless to say, I'm rather tired =) Link to comment
kashirigi
I'm clearly very late to this party, but that's a lovely layout. It almost makes me wish I had chosen a rural instead of an urban layout for my tiny layout. Maybe I should make another one. . . Link to comment
bill937ca
I'm clearly very late to this party, but that's a lovely layout. It almost makes me wish I had chosen a rural instead of an urban layout for my tiny layout. Maybe I should make another one. . . Well here's an idea I'm working on--a serving tray layout. I bought a 21" x 15" wooden serving tray today at Benix for under $20. I plan at least two mini layouts. One will be a urban tram line with street level loading like the Hankai tramway and the other a interurban railway like the abandoned lines at Gifu with floor level platforms. With a serving tray layout I can take it out to the living room, put it on the coffee table or dining table when I want to run it, and store it in another room when not in use. I have a 18" x 14" decorative tray that I bought at WalMart a couple of weeks ago. Right now it has an oval of Tomix Mini Fine Track and two stub sidings in it. But this tray is not as well made as the one I got today. I will post a separate thread and photos when I have time and the project advances a little more. Link to comment
