Ok the new goji just showed up! really cool and big! like over 20" tall and with the full long tail! will be very very cool once done!

 

its going to take some time though as its just the pvc castings and needs shaping (hot water final moulding), assembly and painting!

 

since its pvc and not vinyl it wont be posable so will need to set it in a good train/building wrecking pose...

sorry i think you'll have a very long wait for the amount of work a decent one would be! and if i did put that much work in then i would be doing the shuffle in it! would be fun to see what you could do with fun foam, but that stuff is not as cheap as it use to be in the big rolls.  made a great land shark costume out of it in college, but a shark is a much simpler shape than goji and what really makes goji is his skin texture! might work as a sort of perceived goji if you could get the shape knocked out right.

 

actually surprised on one is selling a costume like this.

It was at the time the Statue of Liberty was being worked on and had "scaffolding" around it and that is what she went as. Little did she realize that sitting down would be impossible....which of course led to another problem!

yeah but they were pretty robust and tailored and had some decent skin detail. its a lot harder than it looks to build something like this. take a look at the youtube series on the guy building his own. also a challenge to make the removable seams to get in and out of it! to make one that looks decent would be a real challenge. only other option would be to simplify and go for a perceived icon type costume, but that takes a lot of design skill to pull off as well.

there is a pretty good 14-15" tall godzilla you can find on ebay pretty regularly that is almost right for the original 50m godzilla and they go for $10-25 range.

there is this one too about the same size but lacks the back/tail fins, but he does have a roar box in him! i have one and am thinking about transpanting the roar box into the new big godzilla... (btw i picked mine up on ebay for like $10)

there were some that were in toysrus that are called 15" figures, but thats the measurement to the tail not the height, they are around 12" tall

there are a bunch you can find on ebay from 5-9" as well, but not really N scale. this little guy is one of the desk toys and does the roar that Kev linked below.

if you want really great realism and a tad better on scale you can go for this vinyl casting that you then need to assemble and paint. i got one and the skin detail is very nice and much better than the toy knockoffs out there. he aint cheap at $70 shipped though!

ps. Curt and I seriously talked about bidding on this goji when it went back up for $100 start, but looks like it was pulled partway through the auction when someone came along with an offer! it started at $2500, then went to $1000, then to the $100. probably would have only used it a couple of times, but it would have been grand. would love to have blown him up in our back yard facing the street so he would look like he was about to smash through the house! put a few lights inside him as well! then do it at xmas time, take that all you inflatable santas and frosties down the street!

On this topic, is anyone aware of any of the "JSDF" vehicles that commonly battle Godzilla and his cohorts in N Gauge?  Especially looking for one of those 'laser tanks' in 1:150.

i poked around some a couple of years back as i thought at one point of the idea of a little battle scene, but never found anything specifically. best would be to get some basic tank models and then add on your own lasers and missile launchers. i would not be surprised though if models were made of the laser tanks and such. perhaps some resin castings that can be added to tank models. yell if you find anything!

I'm not really a big Goji fan, although I liked the movies, but that is one seriously beautiful sculpture.  I'd never pay that much for one, but it probably is worth the money.
