cteno4 Posted March 8, 2011 Author Share Posted March 8, 2011 scott, just grab some heavier gauge stranded electrical wire and strip back a couple of inches. then solder around where the insulation starts to hold it together, then start untwisting. you can then retwist to your hearts content to make great gnarled trunks and branches. you can then solder some to fill in between the wires if you want to get really fancy or use spackle or sculpey (you will need to bake this). then paint with a good cheap lacquer primer (like flat black or gray) then come back with craft acrylics. really works well, ill see if i can dig out a few i was experimenting with. perfect for n scale. cheers jeff Link to comment
