bikkuri bahn
Forum members living in Japan may be interested to know that NHK is re-running at least a couple of episodes of their popular documentary "Showa no SL Eizoukan", which has documentary footage, mainly in color, of late 60's and 70's JNR steam. Just this morning there was an episode, which I managed to watch, but not record. The next episode will be broadcast on NHK Sogou (general) this Sunday (13th), from 3:40am~4:10am. The topic will be Hokkaido steam. Also, earlier in the morning, two episodes of "omoide no tetsuro" documenting closed railway lines, will be broadcast from 2:40~3:00am and 3:00~3:20am. Both of these will be covering Hokkaido rural lines :happy4: Link to comment

bikkuri bahn
Haha. Yeah, it's basically filler for the early AM slots. But it's better than nature scenes with muzak, or TV shopping. But if you want these episodes otherwise, it'll cost you a couple thousand yen for a DVD. Better to fire up the recorder to catch a freebie. Link to comment
