Bad Day on the streets in Hawthorne

Pedestrian hit twice by different hit and run vehicles, then a good samaritan is hit hit by a car. Driver stops and is assaulted by a mob.

Yes, very bizarre indeed.  I wonder if this was an outcome of a drug deal gone bad.  I used to live near Hawthorne (in El Segundo), though it's an entirely different neighborhood- once you go eastbound past the 405 fwy, the socioeconomic environment becomes decidedly downscale. And the area around the Century Fwy is especially dodgy- in high school, alot of classmates went there to buy booze from liquor stores which were lax with ID checks...
