ShinCanadaSen
Hi guys, I got 10 Kato Koki 106's for Christmas and although they are great, the wall of 50 brown JRF 19D containers gets a little monotonous. My question is are n-scale Japanese containers standardized like the real thing? (will they fit on my Kato Koki 106's). Also, who makes good ( and hopefully inexpensive ) containers? Thanks. CaptOblivious
They are in fact standardized (except for Kato's 40' containers for the North American market). Tomix, Kato, Hogarakado and a couple other companies make them. The 106s are quite versatile: the prototype can carrie domestic 12',, domestic 20', domestic 31', and maritime 20' and 40'. The only place to get 40' cntainers that fit is from the TomyTec Trailer Collection. Tomix is your best bet for cheap 12' containers, and Hogarakado for more obscure models (at a price!). Kato's line is very limited, and their most recent offerings haven't been well received quality-wise. Link to comment
