Cziter
Uploaded with ImageShack.us Hello, i'm looking for some bottom refference to my e231 3d model, it can be any type of that kind of train. Hard to find without proper english therminology. Link to comment
KenS
Good question. Despite lots of past searches for E231 info, I've never seen a photo or diagram of the underside of a real one. But this motivated me to do some looking and I found a few photos of some of the details, as well as some associated info. Some terms I used to search on were "JR東日本 E231 系電車" (JR East E231 Series Train), "E231系VVVF制御装置" (VVVF system controller E231) and "JR東日本 E231 駆動装置" (JR East E231 drive system). An interesting page on "E231 parts": http://e231series.web.fc2.com/e231/parts/parts.html Pages showing which cars on suburban and Yamanote E231s have which subsystems: http://ytrain.web.fc2.com/jreast/E231tohoku.html http://ytrain.web.fc2.com/jreast/E231tokaido.html http://ytrain.web.fc2.com/jreast/E231_500.html A couple of wikimedia commons photos: An E231 compressor (presumably mounted to the underside somewhere): http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:JR_East_E231_Air_Compressor.jpg E231 Bogies: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%95%E3%82%A1%E3%82%A4%E3%83%AB:JR_East_E231-1000_Bogie.jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:L25_DT61G.jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:L25_TR246P.jpg E233 TIMS boxes: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%95%E3%82%A1%E3%82%A4%E3%83%AB:TIMS_box_E233_1000.jpg JR East Technical documents (not much there): http://www.jreast.co.jp/development/tech/pdf_17/Tech-17-07-12.pdf http://www.jreast.co.jp/eco/pdf/pdf_2004/06_07.pdf Link to comment
Cziter
Thank you very much, it was helpfull(i found even more using kanji names from those sites ). I got all the materials except front bumper/plate. Shape is tricky and photos are only from front(side pics from "engine house" are w/o bumper). I couldnt even find a good KATO model picture(nice detailed btw). Thx again. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Link to comment
KenS
Glad I could help. If you found other interesting links, please post them here. I'd be interested, and I suspect others would as well. Is this model for a simulation program, or are you designing a physical model of a train? Link to comment
