some Tohoku scenery

Well Prototypes is entirely too quiet .  Here are some videos shot in Tohoku by the excellent youtube contributor karibajct.

 

First, two of Tsugaru Railway's "Stove Train":

 

 

 

I'm a big fan of this.  JR Hokkaido runs a train with a stove car on the Senmo Line, and as Bikkuri posted about, there used to be the "Barbecue Car."  Squid and octopus are surprisingly good, I really want to ride one of these services someday.

 

And four of JR East's new HB-E300 on the Ou Main Line and Gono Line:

 

 

 

 

 

While I find the exterior design of the HB-E300 generally pleasing, I suspect the best thing from a passenger's point of view is the huge windows.  Looks really open.
