clem24
I don't know if this will ever come up for sale again (as a brand new item) but here it is: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10020255 They must've pulled these out of an old warehouse like the did with the 300 series that I posted about. Anyway, now's your chance to grab a set! But.. Do note that these sets are part of the old tooling, meaning that the power car chassis might have the same problem that I did with my Dr. Yellow set (i.e. falling apart). But still... Definitely a nice little collectors item! Oh and the original 8 car set is also available (but good luck finding the add-on set!): http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10020251 Not as exciting but still cool. cteno4
ooooh tempting if the dollar was better against the yen! im such a sucker for those wooden boxes, there is something nice about that presentation. it is a different feeling cracking open my old 922 dr yellow in its wooden box than the plastic boxes. granted the plastic boxes are nice and very functional, especially if dropped, but the wooden box does something human to the package! While i dont want all my boxes wooden, a few special ones are really nice to have. still kicking myself for missing the rapit in a wooden box for $120 a year or so ago, stupid, stupid, stupid! Japan has it down when it comes to designing packaging, one of my treasured design books is a book on Japanese packaging design. cheers jeff Link to comment
