miyakoji
it just makes spending money too easy cause it is not tangible. I agree completely. If I've got cash in my hand, it hurts to let go of it , but online "credits"? No problem. Link to comment
keitaro
gee this is tempting i gotta stop going to this forum making me want to buy stuff. I promised the missus that the kiha91 was last train for next few months .... and i bought one since. hahaha. maybe i should block acess to hs instead LOL Link to comment
Guest ___
i had to have it and hadn't expected it to be in stick any time soon. it's one of those really weird trains that you expect to see as "sold out long ago" and it never comes back. plus, i'm a total goob for kiha 40, and a Korean BBQ car car plus it's a Hokkaido train was just sprinkles on top of it. i totally hate myself for having no self control, but knew i would regret it forever if i didn't get it. i'd still like to see more prototype shots if i can get the bbq car open, i may try to plant some people into those unused seats, maybe a chef in there as well. shots of the train though. I am wondering if certain web browsers are resizing to optimum screen size while other's aren't. It's kind of strange, my monitor is is sizing them for the screen size? Link to comment

Guest ___
Revising a dead thread, but does anyone have any video of the BBQ train running aside from mine on the layout? Link to comment
miyakoji
Here it is sandwiched between some KIHAs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YT_6bDOI8zg the Okhotsk Kuidaore-go (a little Osaka influence, must have come up on the Twilight Express): few videos of it on YT, sadly. Both of these above are from early autumn 2010, maybe it hasn't been out much since then. Seems like a great idea to me! And actually the first one appears to be a group charter service. bikkuri bahn
Both of these above are from early autumn 2010, maybe it hasn't been out much since then. Two of the cars are based in Kushiro, and one in Asahikawa. Given that they are used only occasionally on rinji ressha, and the railfan population is thin outside of Sapporo, could be a reason there isn't much on YT. Link to comment
keitaro
i think he was asking for video of the model?? Link to comment
Guest ___
Nope, I wanted video of the prototype. This should work. As so far as I know, the BBQ train is no longer running, or hasn't for the past few years. I wish it were, I'd make a trip out to see it. Link to comment
keitaro
here is a railfan page http://railf.jp/news/2011/05/25/144500.html also I suck at reading but does this pdf not mention a bbq car http://www.jrhokkaido.co.jp/press/2012/120120-1.pdf 7th down edit* http://www2.jrhokkaido.co.jp/global/english/train/tr027_01.html I'm pretty sure the 3rd car down is the bbq train must have changed it to run with a regular special run make more sense 1 Link to comment
miyakoji
Yes the seventh entry, for the Mashike Norokko, does mention the bbq car. It's also mentioned in the railf.jp link. Apparently while based at Naebo, NAHA 29002 had been used on this service as well as for the group train Shiokari Pass Sakura Norokko. Does anyone know what is 'norokko' means? I can't find anything on it. Just makes me think of croquette, which I think I could cook quite creatively on the bbq car! The other JRs seriously need to hack a few of these together . Would look cool in the Oku-Izumo Orochi consist. Link to comment
