scott
Anybody have any favorite pictures of 2-track stations they could post? I'm mainly looking for rural or small interurban lines, and stations with two lines but no passing tracks. (And not just 2-track stations on single-tracked lines.) Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for. Do you mean a two track main line with no passing sidings at a station? You won't get much of that on rural or small interurbans, as they are mainly single track mains. There are plenty of them in urban and suburban settings, both with side and island platforms. However, there may be examples of what you're looking for, this being Japan. bikkuri bahn
Also, check out the first 6.3km of the Nagano Dentetsu Main Line, it's double track. However, it's a pretty urban line on this stretch, including subway running. Outer parts are rural, but then you have single track... Kirihara Station: http://kd55-101.blog.hobidas.com/image/071006-099.jpg http://shinano.up.seesaa.net/image/kiriharast2.jpg Also the Kotoden in Kagawa Pref. Once again double track in the city areas, then single further out. Ritsurinkoen Station, where the double track becomes single: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/goodlife5152/30308292.html 2 Link to comment
clem24
Ha yeah Nagaden is pretty cool. I got to ride shotgun (er, backwards shotgun) the length of the line on ex-Odakyu 10000 series Yukemuri from Nagano to Yudanaka. Link to comment
marknewton
bb, PLEASE don't start posting photos of the Kotoden - I have enough distractions already! It's bad enough having five of their cars in my collection without being inspired to model the railway as well! :cheesy All the best, Mark. Link to comment

That's it exactly--I could have phrased it better, obviously. You won't get much of that on rural or small interurbans, as they are mainly single track mains. Ah, well. But thanks for dredging up some examples, especially if they're rare! Link to comment
scott
Here's one I found: Tsugaru-Imabetsu station, on JR Hokkaido's Kaikyo line in Aomori Maybe no representative of very much, but interesting in a minimal way. Link to comment
Mudkip Orange
Maybe no representative of very much, but interesting in a minimal way. Indeed, check the Lincoln Logs platform shelters and the Shinkansen-grade catenary. You can also see the stationhouse for Tsugaru-Futamata station just down the hill. Tsugaru-Imabetsu will die by 2015, as that's when the Shinkansen is slated to open. Link to comment
