bill937ca
Tomytec will release a new tram drive designed to be adjustable to three different truck centers for February 2011 release along with a Iyotetsu 2000 series tram and Kyoto 2000 series tram. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10131862b/30/1 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10131862 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10131860 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10131861 Link to comment

bill937ca
Ah, nice to see pictures of the new tram drive! Can't figure out what the range of possible truck distances is though... Checking my list of Japanese tram dimensions, I find that truck centers will probably be suitable for trams 11000mm (Nagasaki 200, 202, 211, 300 and 360 series), 12000mm (for Hiroshima 350, 500 and 550 series), 12200mm (for Okayama 7600 and 7900 etc.). Various Hankai Tramway trams are 13000 plus mm, but Tomytec already has a 13m chassis. The Kyoto/Iyo tram is 11700mm long, so that is certain to be one of the lengths. Maybe an overall tram length of 11000mm, 11700mm and 12000mm. Link to comment
Jes
Maybe an overall length of 11000mm, 11700mm and 12000mm. That would make sense, thanks for figuring out! Link to comment
marknewton
I reckon this mechanism could be useful for modellers working in HOe/009 in addition to N scale. I'm tempted to order one on spec, to see how useful it might be. And Billl, thanks for calculating the range of wheelbases, that's very helpful. Cheers, Mark. Link to comment
bill937ca
Prototypes of the new Tomytec Iyo Railway / Kyoto tram due next month while on display in Yokohama in February. More photos from Yokohama. 1 Link to comment
marknewton
Very nice! My commitment to working only in HO is really starting to waver! Cheers, Mark. Link to comment
bill937ca
The new Tomytec trams and the TM-TR01 drives arrived at Japanese dealers last week. Here's the car in its current Matsuyama (Iyo Railway) configuration with roof-top air conditioners. The TM-TR01 drive has a wheelbase of 9.2mm and is adjustable to truck centers of 36mm, 38.6mm and 41.2mm. 1 Link to comment
