Railway events Saturday Oct. 9

October is traditionally the month for many railway facility open house/open days.  Today there were a number of these events.  Here are a couple that have been posted so far.

 

JR East Niitsu Rolling Stock Manufacturing Plant (where many E series are built). A crane lifting an E233 body shell:

Railway Technical Research Institute Open day (in Kunitachi, Tokyo).  Apparently you aren't allowed to photograph much of anything here, but here is a view of the battery hybrid Hi-Tram on the test track:
