Actually, you can read the packets from the DCC signal image, just like you can read a webpage from the hexadecimal dump of the IP packet stream. It's a very good way to find programming errors in your DCC central or design issues in DCC track signal driver circuits, like the misplaced stop bit problem i had some time ago or the track voltage overshoot problem for some fremo boosters due to bad quaility filter capacitors. It's also one of the easiest ways to read the actual track voltage off the screen, inclduding any misbalance between the positive and negative sides. (which could randomly trigger some automatic brake functions fully unintentonally) 1 Link to comment
