bill937ca
This is the production record of the same layout that the Shotengai was taken from. Its a Japanese home layout about the size of a dining room table (1800mm x 1300mm or 71" x51"). It has some of the most detailed scenes I have ever seen and is a major source of inspiration. We briefly looked at this layout several years ago, but when there were far fewer members. It uses Tomix track and is basically a figure 8. The layout started out with a small yard under the tracks, then the owner ripped the yard out and added more scenes. He started out with many commercial items and has added many homemade details like working traffic lights and trackside signals. DanMacK
Bill, Thanks for the link! My first impression when I saw the overview was "That's it?!" The creator has managed to make countless detailed scenes and make the layout so believable. Amazing inspiration for those of us workling in a small space. Link to comment
westfalen
That's a very nice layout. Small layouts can often be the best detailed because you don't have to spread your efforts over something the size of a room. Link to comment
