"Wow" is right.  My goodness. 

 

Cool to see Kato doing a train from Taiwan.  But at that price? Clearly, this is for the collectors market...I wonder if there's a 'cheaper' version for mere mortals.

 

Back to Kato...I was just thinking the other day that Kato is really the only railroad manufacturer that is truly global.  I can't think of any other company that produces as many different trains for as many different countries as Kato.  I don't know why, but I find that fascinating.

they are 3 years that this set is unsold, the standard set (3 boxes with 4 cars was sold out in 6-8 months) was less expensive, around 400-450€ , the only difference is the Seiko Watch

In the past 2 years I see the same seller with the same trains, at 99% ending unsold (the right price in Taiwan shop was around 600€)

p.s. the wooden box is not so heavy so if the package is not bulletproof, you receive all broken (if the postal service don't handle with care

I'm sure I saw this set for sale in Taiwan last year for around $250-300, albiet not the collectors edition.
