gmat
Last night, I saw some people standing in the middle of a train crossing so that they could get a unobstructed view of a fireworks display along the ROW. On Saturday, the 21st of August, there was a fireworks display on the Tama River, near Futakotamagawa Station, on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line. I was cycling back from the Yokota AB Friendship Festival and about 7:15 passed the Setagaya Line. Between Yamashita and Miyanosaka Stations, the tracks line up directly in the direction of the fireworks and as it's near the top of a slight rise, they have a nice, albiet limited view of the fireworks. There were about ten people at one crossing and about 15 to 20 people at the other. The crossings were in a residential area so there weren't any cars passing through. In fact, the main problem was the Setagaya Line trams passing through and forcing them to get out of the way. One person had a tripod with I guess a small video cam on it. Some people were wearing yukatas. Sorry, didn't think to snap a photo. They were about 2 1/2 km from the fireworks. One never knows how a train line can be useful. Best wishes, Grant Link to comment
