David
The delayed TomyTec cab controller is now available. HS has clear photos of each piece now. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10102864 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10102863 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10102848 When I looked the component pieces where sold out at HS, only the combined package remained. Buying the packaged set costs about $205 if shipped to North America (Europe would be about +$10, Asia -$10, South America and Africa +$40). The components where not sold out at HW when I looked, but stock was at 1 of each and 4 combined sets. http://www.hwjapan.com/sh/TOM22448.aspx http://www.hwjapan.com/sh/TOM22447.aspx http://www.hwjapan.com/sh/TOM22413.aspx Link to comment

David
I think some people had it pre-ordered, but from the sell out of the components (maybe it didn't see many pre-orders compared to the packaged set, so not many where made) and the low stock of the complete package (4 at HW, unknown number at HS) I'm wondering how long it will be available. Will Tomy choose to put it into regular production, or will it become difficult to get. There is also the voltage issue; I think the unit is only something like 8.5V, instead of 12V. If it is only meant to power TomyTec and smaller trains and only has one sound scheme for a rather old but distinctive electric, it may not be as much of a bargain against the true Tomix cab controller (which after shipping is $80 more) Link to comment
cteno4
yeah it only looked mildly interesting to me. the size is also kind of small as well. would make me look like a monster with my hand size on those controllers! cheers jeff Link to comment
ToniBabelony
I've cancelled my pre-order a while ago due to financial problems... No review from my side. Link to comment
David
The individual parts are up for sale now. I'm ordering an E127 when it comes into stock on the 29th, so I'll see what, if anything might get ordered with it. I'm a bit skeptical of how stable the drive pieces are alone (if they are super light like the tram controller then it will be too ackward trying to turn the handle when the whole thing wants to move), and the set may not be as good as buying the next controller up.
